After the refurbishment of the main Chateau and the reception room in the Orangery, our current project is to complete the landscaping of our gardens. We are working with a famous landscaping agency based in Paris and in Brussels. They asked us to remove pretty everything from the former garden in order to start with a blank page. We just kept the cherry trees which are offering delicious fruits in June-July and the overall classical design of the topiary edged gardens (this style is called “a la francaise” as it is seen in many beautiful estates in the country, the most famous example being the Chateau de Versailles gardens).
The final result will be a mix between the following target plans
New features were already added like new plants for the flower area, the vegetable patch (15) and the orchard, an extended terrace for the swimming-pool (17), a new hedge between the pool and the chateau. Last but not least a new dining terrace (9) was created with the largest shade sail in France (a single sail instead of many parasols). This will be completed in April and we will share photos when everything is set up. We have also purchased new ponies who will be placed in the fields surrounding the chateau.
The second phase of the project will happen in Spring 2014 with new surprises and the gardens will then look even more spectacular.
